Gator Hunting

Season: September 1st – 17th

Alligators are no strangers to Plaquemines Parish and the wetlands of Louisiana. These enormous apex predators grow up to 600 pounds and 18 feet in length. If you’ve ever dreamed of going toe-to-toe with a dinosaur, gator hunting is about as close as you can get.

After a successful gator hunt, the reptile may be harvested for its meat and hide. Hunters may also opt to have the gator’s head mounted as a trophy.
